What we do

Five things,
done properly.

McLean’s Core Services is a small, owner-run outfit, so the list is deliberately short. Everything below is work Jeff actually does himself, for commercial properties and family gardens alike, right across Southern Oregon.

Lawn Aeration

The headline service, and the one the lawns around Grants Pass need most. Core aeration pulls plugs across the whole surface so water, air and feed can reach the root zone instead of sitting on compacted ground.

Residential and commercial

Lawn & Landscape Renovations

Full renovations for tired lawns and dated planting beds, on both commercial properties and family back gardens. Shaping, edging, turf and planting brought back to something worth looking at.

Commercial and residential

Drip Irrigation

Resets, repairs and ongoing maintenance for drip systems. It is the job customers call about when something stops running, and the one Jeff has a habit of turning up for the same day.

Reset and maintenance

Artificial Turf Cleaning

A dedicated deep clean and sanitation service for synthetic lawns: debris removal, deep power brushing, extraction of organic buildup, enzyme treatment, disinfecting and a final turf conditioning pass.

Deep clean and sanitation

Ongoing Landscape Care

Regular help through the season for people who would rather have one number to call. Some customers here are on their tenth year, which is the part of this business worth advertising.

Season after season

A Grants Pass lawn immediately after core aeration, with soil plugs pulled across the surface in visible passes

Lawn aeration

This is what the job actually looks like.

A Southern Oregon lawn straight after a pass, plugs pulled and left on the surface where they break down. It is not the tidiest the ground will ever look, and that is exactly the point.

Aeration is the service McLean’s leads with on its own listing, for good reason. Ground that has been walked on, parked on, mowed and baked through an Oregon summer stops letting anything through. Pulling cores opens it back up.

Artificial turf

Synthetic lawns still
need cleaning.

Turf does not grow, so people assume it does not need anything. Organic matter still lands on it, pets still use it, and it still drains through a backing that can block. McLean’s runs a dedicated deep clean for it.

What the service covers

  • 01Debris removal
  • 02Deep power brushing and grooming
  • 03Extraction of organic buildup
  • 04Enzyme treatment for pet and food odors
  • 05Sanitizing and disinfecting
  • 06Final turf conditioning

Improves drainage

  • Organic debris can clog drainage holes and slow water flow.
  • Cleaning helps prevent puddles, muddy spots, and standing water.

Reduces odors

  • Pet urine can create strong ammonia odors if not treated.
  • Sanitizing products help neutralize odor-causing bacteria rather than simply masking smells.

Health and sanitation

  • Removes bacteria, mold, mildew and organic waste.
  • Helps create a cleaner surface for children, pets, and customers.

The work

Commercial grounds and back gardens.

A finished commercial landscape with curved poured-concrete edging, turf lawns and freshly planted beds

Shot on site mid job, irrigation fitting still in hand, with the finished grounds behind it.

Commercial renovations

Curved poured edging, clean turf runs and freshly planted beds on a commercial site. Landscape renovation is listed first on the company’s own intro, ahead of everything except aeration, and this is the sort of property it means.

Commercial and residential are treated the same way here. Same person, same standard, same phone number.

Residential lawns

The other half of the work: ordinary Southern Oregon back gardens, timber fence, a flower border, and a lawn that gets hammered by heat from July onward. Exactly the sort of ground an aeration pass is done for.

No minimum contract and no sales visit. A phone call, a look at the ground, and a price.

Drip irrigation

Cut a length of old drip line open and this is what comes out: grit and organic buildup packed the length of the pipe, which is why the run at the far end stopped watering anything.

Resetting and repairing these systems is one of the jobs McLean’s gets called out for most, and one customer put a five star review up specifically because Jeff came out and reset hers the same day she rang.

Ask about your system

Left: what a blocked drip line looks like from the inside. Right: a fresh joint going back in.

What customers say

Five stars, and one ten year customer.

Jeff McLean has been looking after Southern Oregon gardens long enough that some customers are on year ten.

McLean’s Core Services is owner-operated out of Grants Pass. Jeff quotes the work, does the work, and is the person who picks up when you call. The reviews mention him by name because there is nobody else to mention.

Customers describe him as honest, dependable and pleasant to deal with, and more than one has kept using him for years rather than shopping around. That is the whole business model.
